Michael is not a Pacific Northwest native but feels very much at home on Bainbridge Island with his beautiful wife & high-school sweetheart of 23 years and their two well behaved, non-iPhone, non-SnapChat addicted teenagers. (Yes, Maddie & Nick, that’s you.)
He joins Apptentive with over 18-years of hands-on experience developing software solutions and bringing ideas to market online… and yes, he’s the reason the kids are addicted to the internet.
Michael started his career at Amazon.com back in the early 2000’s as a front-end developer and engineering manager. He led the front-end team responsible for launching the Tools & Hardware, Camera & Photo, and the Toys, Video Games, & Baby stores in partnership with Toys R Us.
Michael left Amazon to develop & bootstrap a software company with his best friend from college in Louisville, Kentucky. ModernBill.com was acquired by Parallels.com in 2008 and he spent the next few years racing cars & helping other startups bring their ideas to market.
In 2012, Michael returned to the Pacific Northwest to join his old friends at Parallels as subject matter expert responsible for pivoting the Plesk product vision and developing a new go-to-market strategy for Plesk 12. Plesk.com later spun-off as an independent company using the same strategy and was acquired for $105M.
Most recently, Michael was at Tucows.com leading the Enom.com and OpenSRS.com product teams in Seattle and Toronto, building the world’s largest wholesale domain platform with over 30M domains under management across 40k resellers worldwide
