Love Cats and #CustomerLove: A Valentine’s Day Message
At Apptentive, we talk about love. A lot. Our logo is a heart, we created the hashtag #CustomerLove, and we go out of our way to show our customers love every chance we get. We believe love is an act. We choose to invest our energy and time in truly demonstrating our love for our customers, to make sure that they feel our care and attention on an ongoing basis.
Why the emphasis on love? Because it matters. Our customers are people who chose to work with Apptentive and it is our privilege to treat them with the care, respect, and love they deserve. Not only does this make business sense (see ROI of Customer Love), but also helps us build a culture of team members who believe this and treat each other like family.
Because we love love so much, Valentine’s Day is a big deal for our team. It’s a special time of year where we can share #CustomerLove with our community as a way to say thank you for their support, and each year, we show them how much they mean to us by sending a box of love their way.
Love Is the Killer App
It is not surprising that we are big fans of the book Love Is the Killer App by Tim Sanders (grab your copy on Amazon!). We even included a copy in all of the love boxes we sent to customers this year. Tim believes love is an individual’s secret weapon, and we whole-heartedly agree. By spreading the love through connecting with people, giving out advice, using every available moment to increase your knowledge, you become a “Love Cat,” which is a philosophy we embrace daily when it comes to interacting with our customers and community.
The book teaches the concept of the “bizlove” philosophy, which is contagious. It’s a philosophy of people being excited to come to work, and where they give out hugs and encouragement to everyone they come across. The “bizlove” philosophy is that nice people can finish first if they effectively and enthusiastically use their intangibles: Knowledge, Network, and Compassion. Through being a rich source of information, you will be seen as a person with valuable insight, can double your business intelligence in a year, can triple your network of personal relationships in two years, and can quadruple the number of colleagues in your life who love you like family.
Encouraging others, listening, and demonstrating you care for those you come in contact with is an end in itself, and you’ll soon find the encouragement and caring coming back to you. In short, by becoming a “Love Cat,” you become one of those amazing people to whom everyone turns, who leads rather than follows, who never runs out of ideas, contacts, or friendship.
Have a happy Valentine’s Day!
From all of us at team Apptentive, we hope you have a wonderful Valentine’s Day spending time with the people you love, doing work you love, enjoying an activity you love, or spreading the love to another community.
Thanks for being part of our continued journey. The ride wouldn’t be half as much fun without you by our side.
We love you!
