Company News
Apptentive is Growing!
It’s an exciting time at Apptentive as we roll into the holidays and build up momentum to kick off the new year. We’re thrilled to be growing both our capabilities and the number of customers we’re working with by the day.
Over the past couple months, we are proud to have achieved some of the following milestones:
- On-boarded six new employees, spanning four departments;
- Moved into a large new office in downtown Seattle; and,
- Expanded our Appy Hour meetup to Los Angeles and San Diego.
And better yet, our growth will only accelerate as we are actively recruiting in engineering, marketing, and sales.
As we recognize that many of our readers are current customers and friends of the company, we wanted to take the chance to share a little about those we recently welcomed onto the team to support our recent customer growth. The newest additions to our eclectic team include startup veterans, wine makers, vintage car lovers, and mustache aficionados (#Movember, anyone?).
Meet the new faces of the Apptentive Team below:
Blake Imsland, Software Developer
A native of the Pacific Northwest, Blake is a self-taught developer and inveterate tinkerer fascinated by anything that plugs into a wall – video games, electric guitars, and kitchen gadgets alike. On weekends, you can find him drinking craft beer, eating various food items containing bacon, and failing to persuade his pet rats to do tricks.
Clay McDaniel, VP Marketing & Growth
Clay is old enough to remember when the first Depeche Mode album came out, but young enough to still go out to hear live shows on weeknights. His enterprise software experience goes back to 1995 when he helped implement Peoplesoft and SAP systems as his first job out of college. Prior to joining Apptentive, he co-founded and built a digital marketing agency and then lead the global social media practice for Mediabrands at Interpublic Group after they acquired it. Clay finds his zen while fly-fishing in a cold river and he will talk your ear off about the Sounders and Arsenal soccer teams. Please don’t make fun of his ancient bio-diesel car.
Ravi Ramkumar, Enterprise Account Executive
Ravi spent his formative Capri-Sun-and-Dunkaroos years in Richmond, Virginia before moving to the Emerald City for high school. After working as a research analyst and marketer, he decided his love for listening to, and engaging with, others would be best served in a business development capacity. With successful sales stints at enterprises and startups alike, he has learned that nothing is more important than relationships (Hello Apptentive!). When not playing basketball or watching the Seahawks, he can often be found quoting under-appreciated classics like Dumb & Dumber… to his pet corgi’s disdain.
Alex Walz, Content Marketing Manager
No stranger to Seattle’s entrepreneurship scene, Alex has consulted various local startups and pitched his own mobile app in business plan competitions around the state. He was first bitten by the entrepreneurial bug while directing the marketing programs for startup video game developer Reverie World Studios, bringing their flagship title to market in 2011. When not working at startups, Alex is an avid traveler who lived out of a backpack for two summers in Europe and Southeast Asia and whose mission is to map out Seattle one restaurant at a time.
Joel Stimson, Full-Stack Software Developer
Prior to becoming a Ruby and JavaScript developer, Joel took on roles involving data analysis, marketing, account management, and sales training. He is a startup veteran who helped grow PitchBook from 7 employees to nearly 100 over his tenure. A man of many talents, Joel graduated from Whitman College with a degree in Physics and Astronomy while simultaneously making wine for several of the wineries in the Walla Walla valley. He fills his weekends with reading sci-fi, cheering on Seattle’s teams, and getting outdoors to hike, sail, and bike.
Kelly Long, Office Manager & Executive Assistant
Kelly is a startup junkie who loves to organize chaos for fun. She has a degree in business administration from the University of San Diego (go Toreros!) and a career spanning several startups in the online entertainment space. Her passions include movies, games, books, and all things culinary. For her personal claim to fame, Kelly helped create the blockbuster trivia game Scene It?, and even gave it its iconic name.
